Hey, Poppi... you lookin' for another Tennessee boy?
I'm over in Franklin, south of Nashville.
Enjoying my '05 STeed for a couple more weeks - then knee surgery will put me down for the winter.

Cool Re: All I hear is crickets ...

Chris,

I hope that you recover quickly from your knee surgery.

I think that there a lot of ST riders in Tennessee, but I also think that most of them dwell on the ST-Owners forum. It seems that some areas are more active in groups (like N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Georgia, Florida). Riders in Tennessee don't seem to correspond on the forums as much. Nothing wrong with that - they're probably spending more time riding!

I'm lucky, I live in Knoxville (you know, right next to the Smoky Mountains, Deal's Gap, Cherohala Skyway ... he, he, he).

So tell those riders who are still over on ST-Owners about our new forum and get them to join.

I haven't said anything over there because I didn't want to rock Joe's boat. But, we WERE actually the first ST1300 forum around back in 2002.

We've just moved to a better home now.

Yeah... I found this forum long before I found the other. But, it does seem as though most STers on this site are west of the Pecos River. Through the other forum I have met three other riders in my area.
But both sites are an awesome source of info.
I've never had much time to commit to being an active participant in an on-line community, but I'm slowly getting more involved - I think due to my passion for this motorcycle.

The ST is so rare in my neck of the woods, I've been known to turn around and chase down a couple that have passed me. One of which was a local cop, who had a comment or two about the speed with which I had overtaken him. But we also had a good laugh.

Thanks, Joe, for everything you put into this site and this community of riders!

Chris G.

FYI: I'm a native California boy (Chula Vista) who constantly longs for that Cali warmth / beach / scenery. I make a yearly pilgrimage to get my fix of canyon carving and coastal cruising.

Around about January of 2004, I sold my first 03 ST1300 and rebuilt an 02 GL1800 and started riding it around.

I must admit that I spent a lot more time riding than adding content to the old MSN ST forum back then.

Now however, I'm back on the ST1300 and taking a much more active interest in the forum.

So, I can promise you a lot more things happening here than in the past... starting with the Farkle article contest! We've already got one vendor to agree to provide a very nice prize and I'm working on a couple more for runners-up.

We're also going to be slowly harvesting a lot of the old content from the MSN site, cleaning it up, and moving it here into the Technical section.

This forum will be a lot more organized than our last one, I can promise you that.

Best regards,

Hey, I think I've ridden up Booger Hill (or was it to Booger Hollow?) during the first Butt Lite rally back in 1999.

It was a bonus location.
