Default Need new windshield for tall rider

Any suggestions for a rider 6'3" tall? The stock windshield isn't working and wind is hitting me in face. Is it better do get a windshield 6" taller and 6" wider (Cee Bailey) or one that is not as high but has a flip top?

Or a Laminar Lip. Lots cheaper than a whole screen. I'm a meer 6' but the LamLip worked great for me on a stock screen. Search the forum for more opinions.

Have you mounted the stock shield in the higher of the two mounting positions? I'm not talking about the electric adjustment. The brackets that attach the shield to the adjuster have two positions, and for your height the higher will probably work better.

Just chimming in , as Blue Streak stated you do have x2 height adjustments on windshield arm.. If your looking for a new shield , I recommend a 7JuRock .. I run x3 different shields based on what configuration I have my ST in. The 7JuRock is a +2 wider on both side and +2 taller than the stock . I'm 6'1" and I use it when riding 2 up.

I had never heard of a 7Jurock shield before. Looks similar to the Clearview:

I order mine from 7JuRock, with my specifications +2 +2 with Grey tint. I'm very happy with it, what I like the most is it is thicker and more rigid than the stock shield, at the time, price was cheaper than the others I was looking at also. I also run a CalSci shorty tinted, it's kinda thin, but has better protection for Solo LD/camping then the cut down stock, but more air for cooling than the 7JuRock .. http://www.7jurock.com/store/index.php

I've never heard of a 7Jurock shield either nor heard any reviews.

I recommend either a Clearview, a V-Stream, or an Aeroflow.

I prefer the Aeroflow but, it is a bit more expensive. It comes in an original size (which is six inches wider than stock) and a smaller, narrower summer vesion.

The claim to fame for the Aeroflow is that it has a secondary "Flow plate" that velcros to the dash under the main Shield. It redirects the air flow back up against the inside of the main shield so that the two air flows (outer and inner) flow together smoothly over the end of the main shield which helps to keep the air flow smooth. That way, the air hitting your helmet is smoother.

This only works if you do not raise the main shield very high, however. I only raise the main shield, at most, 3/4 of an inch... usually less.

The Clearview works with cateye cutouts to try to accomplish the same thing - equalize the pressures on both sides of the shield.

Thanks for the tips. I ordered a 26"x26" windshield from 7Jurock today. Style looks similar to stock but much larger. This shield is 6" taller and 6" wider than stock so wind should not be a problem anymore! If it's too tall and I'm looking through it, I can always lower it electrically a few inches.

The six inches wider part really helps eliminate head buffetting for passengers (if that's a concern).

That's what I liked about the AeroFlow and the Cee Bailey's. My wife was getting knocked around pretty good. And, the wind was bothering her too. ;-)

I installed my new 7Jurock windshield the other day and am very impressed with the quality and thickness of the shield. DOT approved. 26X26 allows me to look through it when it's cold and provides 100% wind deflection. This thing is giant compared to stock and has a very similar shape to stock. Very good looking shield and custom made to order. Highly recommend this shield. Takes about 7 days to receive after placing order if you're in Calif.
