Default Re: ST1300 Rear suspension upgrade?

I have a MAXTON rear shock with a hydraulic preload and modified front end.
For those of you who don't know Maxton, they are a susp firm from the UK who do all their own work in house and more used to doing racing suspension than road bikes, but will design and build a unit for your weight and riding style.

Superb quality and if you don't want to put it on your bike, frame it and put it on your's a work of art!

The new shock has ride height setting via the standard adjusting collar on the shock, as well as the remote preload. Also has compression AND rebound damping. A really nice shock, but I do have a problem with squeaking - see latest thread.

The only complaint I have with the company is that I ordered the part in time for installation before the 3 Flags (I thought). I kept checking, and a week before, the shock was ready to ship; only problem was they had to ship it to WIsconsin so that the the middleman could turn around and ship it to me. Since I am only 70 miles from Progressive, I begged them to let me pick it up there or drop ship it to my house instead. No way. Keep in mind the shock was fully paid for at the time I ordered it. So I ended running the whole 3 Flags with no preload; when I returned the shock was still not there; it came about a week later. You'd think human beings could work things out...
You would be wrong.
